The 2017 data for hotels in Poland and Central Europe exceeded all expectations; experts are forecasting a boom for this sector in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. Countries like the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Romania and Croatia are gaining popularity among investors, indeed in recent years they have already established their considerable potential. Nevertheless, in times of dynamic change, the question does arise: What would the future of the hotel sector be if the current trend were to reverse? What are the prospects for this market in 5 to 10 years? How can we sustain the current level of investor interest?

We are all today witnesses to phenomena which are transforming the hotel sector: the expectations of Generation Y, the growth of the Airbnb service, demographic changes and related changes on the employment market. These are just some of the factors shaping the contemporary scene. The saturation of the markets in Western Europe has also caused a shift of attention towards the CEE region. However, investors are also concerned about the stability and attractiveness of tourism in Central and Eastern Europe. Both these last two factors are affecting trends in the region.

So, what does the future hold for investments in hotels in the coming 5-10 years? This question is a reference point for participants and speakers at the 5th conference from the series Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE. This event is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with trends and areas of development at every stage of the investment process, as well as a more general attempt to forecast the future of the hotel market in the CEE region.
